Is Batman here? Superman, perhaps? Nopes it’s Son Heung-min, a player for South Korea, is actually flying down the wing.
Son has been sporting a superhero-like mask at the 2022 World Cup, so you'd be excused for thinking he was a masked vigilante.
And no, it doesn't take place as part of a complicated celebration ritual. Son is protecting himself by donning the mask, which covers his eyes and nose.
The 30-year-old faced a battle against time to be ready to play in Qatar after fracturing his eye socket during Tottenham's victory against Marseille in the Champions League on November 1.
Because of advancements in medical science, Son not only recovered in time — with the aid of the mask — but also participated in every minute of South Korea's dramatic 2-1 upset victory over Portugal to advance to the competition's knockout round.
Son claimed to feel "comfortable" after participating in Korea's first game in the mask during the World Cup against Uruguay. Son told reporters, "I'm just glad that I can play with the mask."
Son is not the only World Cup player wearing a safety mask, though.
Due to nose and eye issues from a head collision while playing for his side RB Leipzig in Germany, Jasko Gvardiol of Croatia has also been donning one.
Ellyes Skhiri, a Tunisian who played for FC Köln in Germany in October after breaking his cheekbone, furthermore donned a mask that shielded his nose and sides of his face.

Additionally, despite suffering a head injury against England in Iran's opening group game, goalie Alireza Beiranvand had a mask on during sessions but opted not to wear it during games. He didn't play in Iran's final group stage encounter against the US but did appear in their second Group B game against Wales.
In games, masks are becoming normal.
In recent years, these kinds of masks have become widely used to protect athletes who are healing from facial injuries.
Son's mask is similar to one worn earlier this season by German defender Antonio Rüdiger after he got a knee to the face while competing for Real Madrid versus Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.
Some of the greatest players, including Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski, Victor Osimhen, and Sergio Ramos, have all worn masks on the field in recent years.
