LAHORE: Renowned Pakistani actor Khalid Butt, who had been fighting kidney and liver illnesses, passed away in Lahore on Thursday.



Butt was a prominent figure in several films and was a well-known face on the nation's television screens for many years.


The actor's funeral prayer is set for this Friday following Asr prayer, according to family sources.

Butt began his career in the 1970s and quickly gained recognition for his versatility by playing a range of serious and humorous roles in Urdu and Punjabi films and television series. The government presented Butt with the Prize of Performance Award in recognition of his noteworthy contributions to the entertainment sector.
